More than 1,000 women from 23 Brazilian states met in the city of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte state, in July 6-9, 2024, for the 3rd National Meeting of the World March of Women. These were days of formulations, organization, culture, and mobilization. The meeting was marked by the memory and teachings of Nalu Faria, as militants from different generations paid tribute and remembered her continuously throughout the meeting.

These women will take their feminist and grassroots rebelliousness empowered during the meeting with them as they go back to their territories. They leave the meeting tasked with expanding feminist self-organization and building forces beyond resistance, to build an offensive against conservatism and the far right. They are organized in the battle to expand public policies that change women’s living conditions and allow structural changes to happen in Brazil. Solidarity and internationalism are the elements guiding the building of grassroots feminism, toward the 6th International Action of the World March of Women.

There are no words to express the joy of seeing that it is possible to have a huge movement of feminist women building an organization that is sufficiently structure, while also being sufficiently flexible to tackle the new challenges facing such a complex context as the one we have on our continent.
