This is a call for solidarity and action in defense of Venezuela and the sovereignty of Latin American peoples against imperialism. We call women and gender dissidents, artists, and activists with grassroots movements and collectives to express feminist solidarity with the Venezuelan people who resist imperialist harassment and defend their sovereignty.
Internationalist solidarity is our instrument in the struggle for people’s sovereignty and self-determination. This is why we denounce the new imperialist offensive against sovereignty and the Venezuelan people. The United States is creating a war in the Caribbean Sea and threatening to advance over Venezuelan territory, once again using the war on drugs as a pretext.
We, as organized grassroots movements, know that the empire in decline is seeking to rebuild its lost hegemony in our Latin American territory. It uses many different methods — manipulation, lawfare, support and promotion of far-right forces — and excuses like this new iteration of an alleged fight against drug trafficking. The goal is to push forward the interests of US transnational corporations over our territory, especially to expropriate oil, common goods, and nature, as Alejanda Laprea denounces on the video below.
It’s been years of harassment and the most hypocritical attempts to change Venezuela’s course — a course that the people successively reaffirm in the streets and at the ballot box.
The defense of Venezuela’s sovereignty is the defense of all of Latin America. Venezuelan women are on the front lines of resistance, sustaining life and grassroots organizing in the face of sanctions, blockades, and military threats. Their historical strength sets an example for the anti-imperialist and internationalist feminist struggle. We defend Venezuela, Latin America, and the sovereignty of our peoples against all forms of imperialist intervention.
Posters the People Will Take to the Streets
Capire and ALBA Movements invite everyone to share their art to reinforce solidarity with the Venezuelan people and the defense of Latin American sovereignty. The posters must inspire our peoples to act and take on the internationalist task of putting the United States in its rightful place: within its borders, outside our territory. We are a continent of peace and thus we will defend ourselves.
Technical specifications: Posters must be standard A3 or A4 paper size with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI, submitted in JPG or PNG format through the form available at https://form.jotform.com/252995732034664.
Please note: Please disclose any use of AI-generated content in your art when submitting your poster.
Submitted posters will be made available to be printed and taken to the territories and spaces of grassroots organizations, as well as to anti-imperialist mobilizations in the streets across the continent.
