The peoples of Western Sahara are holding huge demonstrations at refugee camps in Algeria, in their occupied territory, and in places around the diaspora. They march and say no to the draft resolution authored by the United States renewing the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara. The draft reflects the intervention of the Trump administration in the relationships between the Morocco-Israel alliance in the occupation of Gaza, was adopted by the UN Security Council on November 2, 2025, and it disregards the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination. The video features Nana Ahmed-Salem Omar, from Western Sahara, expressing the power of the Sahrawi people and Sahrawi women in the struggle against this offensive:
The Union of Sahrawi Women, a member of the World March of Women (WMW), released a statement denouncing the “unilateral decision taken by the forces of fascism, imperialism, and colonialism, aimed at imposing the so-called ‘autonomy plan’ in Western Sahara, in blatant disregard for the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence.” The Sahrawi cause is key in the feminist struggle for the peoples’ self-determinations.
Chaba Seini, a member of the national coordinating body of the World March of Women Western Sahara, asserted that “the Sahrawi people and Sahrawi women advocating the autonomy of Western Sahara are against Trump’s decision. We have all taken part in peaceful demonstrations across the region to show the world that this is the Sahrawi people’s decision, with our legitimate representative: the Polisario Front.” She also affirmed the Sahrawi resistance for the right to their territory: “Since the beginning, the Sahrawi people has been struggling and witnessing great martyrdom to defend our land. Women, children, the elderly—the people is rising against imperialism and fascism.”

Emaima Salima, also a member of the WMW in Western Sahara, reported on the demonstrations: “In short, Trump wants autonomy with the Moroccan occupation state. The Sahrawi people is now rebelling everywhere against that decision. We reject it, firmly and unequivocally. The Sahrawi people says there will be no agreement about our self-determination and we refuse to consider this resolution.”
